The premise is that you pay 5 dollars a month for access to the site and he will be posting new songs monthly to the site. It is an interesting way to directly support the artist. I am seriously considering this.

I started trying to find a student handbook and they do exist off campus.

In case no one knows what they are… they are the elusive rulebook that you dont get to see until you hand over your money (at least that was my experience). I was able to find previous years editions but finding say a 2006 or later vintage seemed to be a more complicated search. I was able to find other information though. I was also able to find a staff handbook. I poked around the main site a bit, but I didn’t find what I was looking for.

Randomly, I also found this link. I was a little … shocked cuz I grew up listening to this guy preach.

I went to Community Group tonight and again had an awesome time of fellowship with fellow believers. It was more than just “hanging out” with a bunch of Christians.

The leader brought with him a winter beer. It was exceptionally good. We ended up talking about the Athenasian Creed. This creed was introduced (as many were) to speak to a specific heresy that was dividing the church at the time. It makes for a pretty heavy read and I am still digesting it.

I ended up talking to Eric (the leader) a bit afterwards about how some of the parts could be misinterpretted when viewed individually.

For instance, the creed brings up the topic of works, which if you read the sentence by itself, you could interpret it as you would need to do good works or you would not be going to heaven. Also there is section that says that Jesus was “begotten”…  anyways. … I don’t really have anything to say one way or another as I am still rereading… and rereading this. I think it is critical to know what happened in the past and see how it can be applied to current doctrinal issues. Besides, this is a good way to talk about modalism and Sabellianism in context.

I think this is because I really haven’t made the time to actually sit down and think about content.
Here is a brief status … and then the next post I’ll actually talk about some content.

  • I’m engaged. This is now a well known fact. The wedding will hopefully be in August.
  • I’m learning Ruby and Rails and Ruby on Rails.
  • I just ordered the “save the date” cards from Moo.
  • I have started going to Mars Hill with the intent of becoming a member.
  • Work is really busy.

Thats actually about it. Those things have kept me busy for the last few weeks.

This was really good for me as it allowed for some important decisions to be made.

  1. I’m getting married in the next few months. This requires that I mature and be/become a leader.
  2. I will be joining a new church. This decision took alot of thinking / prayer as I had to make the decision as if I was married.

I have  also been reading Signal vs. Noise alot recently and attempting to apply principles to my work. It has defnitely been interesting.
